I wasn't exactly sure how it would affect the whole system. Which is why I was wondering about the sensor wire so thanks again for answering that. I just repair them when a client brings them to me. If anyone has insight on this please let me know, it would help out a lot. If the screen I ordered and have already will work without the sensor that would be awesome. I got the screen off eBay for $70 and the cheapest one I can find the is the identical to the original a B1 model is another $86. I don't really want to mess with trying it out if the IMAC simply won't work without the sensor plugged in so I'm here to ask if anyone knows if the A1 will wok in place of the B1 minus the temp sensor? I'm assuming the answer is no but figured you guys with way more screen experience might have some insight on this. The LED and inverter connectors look like they will fit and work but there is no LED screen temp sensor wire coming out of the A1. The original model screen in the IMAC is a 24" LM240WU2 (SL)(B1) and the screen that came is a LM240WU2 ( SL)(A1). Well I'm not exactly sure if it is and that's why I'm here. Well I ordered a screen from someone on eBay and when it got here of course it wasn't compatible. I've went through all the motions of resetting the PRAM, the 4 LED diagnosis lights are saying that all the components are talking to each other and working so I'm assuming the problem has to be with screen.
When turned on I get a chime but then just a blank grey screen. After replacing everything except the LCD screen in this IMAC mid 2007 I am now in the process of replacing that as last ditch effort.
